Remington College School of Nursing invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Nursing. Remington College is a CCNE-accredited, private, non-profit academic institution, and is located approximately 15 miles from downtown Orlando. The program consists of accelerated, second-degree students, who attend school full-time for one year to earn their BSN. NCLEX pass rates average 95% for first time test takers. A graduate program is currently in the development phase, planned for implementation this fall. The campus features clinical simulation and skills laboratories as well as modern classrooms and a large learning resource room conducive to collaborative interactions. We work with many established clinical partners throughout the Orlando and surrounding regions, ranging from health care systems, to health departments, to freestanding clinics and agencies. As chief academic officer of the campus, the Dean reports to the Vice President for Operations and Academic Affairs and will provide strategic vision and operational leadership to all aspects of the curriculum, creating an environment that supports the college’s mission, students and faculty members. Primary responsibilities of this position will include: • Day-to-day operations of the campus • Serving as the formal liaison between the academic program and the community Successful candidates will possess: • Doctorate from an accredited institution and a master's degree in nursing if the doctorate is not in nursing; • Demonstrated record teaching experiences in an academic setting, preferably with both undergraduate and graduate students; • Recent leadership experience in collegiate setting, preferred: • Proficiency with distance education; • Experience with both traditional and non-traditional higher education, to preferably include non-profit organizations and; • Experience with accreditation processes; Applicants should provide: 1) a cover letter stating the extent to which he or she meets the qualifications and 2) a curriculum vitae.
