Campus Description: Stony Brook University, home to many highly ranked graduate research programs, is located 60 miles from New York City on Long Island's scenic North Shore. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or other related science.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in human study, background in acoustic hardware and software design, and excellent writing and communication skills.

Brief Description of Duties: The Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dr. Yi-Xian Qin's lab will conduct application of ultrasound measurement on bone tissues, acoustical field measurement and analysis, and sample testing. The successful candidate will:

  • Assist with providing requirement specifics and analysis for design of ultrasound array transducer.
  • Perform bone sample assessments using ultrasound and microCT.
  • Conduct data analysis and write reports.

Special Notes: This is a full time position. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Travel to conferences will be required for this position.
