We invite you to share in the excitement of being part of an emerging medical school which will have widespread impact on the health of Inland Southern Californians.

Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff to the Dean, School of Medicine, the Digital Communications Coordinator will oversee web, mobile and social media communications for the School of Medicine. This position plans and manages the activities required to create and maintain a digital presence for the medical school. It also assists, as needed and under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services Marketing, in the development of the UCR Health website, which supports the clinical enterprise of the school. This position will work collaboratively with marketing colleagues and information technology professionals both within and outside of the School of Medicine, as well as external partners

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, English, marketing, communications, business or related fields, or equivalent experience, and at least five years of experience in web communications.

Minimum of five years of marketing communications experience in digital marketing strategic planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of digital marketing systems within education and/or healthcare.

Advanced understanding of web site design, particularly in terms of site architecture, hierarchical structure and advanced functionalities.

Experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash.

Demonstrated writing/editing skills for digital formats, as well as understanding of graphic design.

Hands-on experience using a content management system to create and publish web content.

Experience in the use of multimedia or online web applications.

Professional hands on experience with social media tools (blogs, microblogging, wikis, social networks, RSS).

Understanding of new technologies and ability to anticipate and initiate application to reach institutional goals.

Highly developed ability to work under tight and occasionally competing deadlines, and to manage priorities in a fluid environment.

Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.

Demonstrated skill in working with minimal direct supervision to produce high-quality, timely and factual work products.

Expert skills in grammar and copyediting.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse internal academic stakeholders and external community representatives.

Familiarity with the regulatory context for social media in health care and educational settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in computer science, English, marketing, communications, business or fields related to the job functions.

Expert skills in visual design software tools, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, for creating graphic content in support of web communications.

Extensive experience in project management and execution of multiple projects.

Proficiency in digital photography and videography.

Experience with the OmniUpdate content management system.

Experience in a higher education setting.
