About The Unit: The Office of the Reynolds Club and Student Activities serves as the core of the co-curricular experience at the University of Chicago. ORCSA plays a formative role in the Campus and Student Life goal of creating a comprehensive and integrated network of services that support the academic mission and facilitate student learning, engagement, and success.

Unit Job Summary: Student Leadership & Development Assistant Director: Reporting to the Associate Director for Student Leadership Development, the Assistant Director is an integral part of creating a comprehensive leadership development program for undergraduate and graduate students. The Assistant Director will assist in the design, coordination and implementation of ORCSA's signature leadership development initiative, UChicago Leads, with an emphasis on the management and coordination of the Student Leadership Institute, A Way with Words Public Speaking Series, and the Student Leader Awards ceremony. This position will oversee departmental efforts in the hiring, training, and supervision of our peer advisors, who serve as a fundamental component of the University of Chicago advising model.

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree required. Masters degree preferred.

Unit Experience: Three years of experience in a progressively responsible work environment preferably in a college or university setting. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand the needs of the University of Chicago community and work with students, faculty and staff in a wide array of situations. Prior experience in budgetary processes (analysis and reporting) is preferred

Unit Job Function Competencies: Demonstrated ability in the design and assessment of leadership development workshops, implementation of training modules, advising of student organizations, and supervision of student staff. Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to cultivate and manage strong relationships is a must. The candidate must have flexibility to work various hours and must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
