As a professional/technical faculty you will teach, develop materials and experiences, and manage a classroom and lab facility to develop technicians who are capable of employment in the regional machining sector across an array of specific industrial applications. This program culminates in a certificate or AAS degree. This program leadership position combines a complex set of technical expertise with supportive and collaborative attitudes to create successful students well prepared for industry while managing lab facilities and budgets to sustain the program itself. This position reports to the program dean.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in precision machine technology or apprenticeship in related field and/or equivalent experience required
  • Knowledge and experience in current technology related to machining processes, manufacturing processes, related math skills, CNC-CAD-CAM, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, precision measurement, and quality control • Two years minimum full-time industry work experience
  • Ability to repair equipment found in machine shops
  • Industry certifications strongly preferred
  • Recent college teaching experience and evidence of ability to teach theory and practice using a variety of teaching methods preferred; ability to use current college online learning management systems; adult instruction experience preferred
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain a state professional-technical certificate to teach in the subject area
  • Valid First Aid card or ability to obtain same within 30 days of employment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service
  • Experience in and commitment to working with undergraduate education strongly preferred
  • Willingness to participate on college, division, or department committees
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students, staff and community from diverse backgrounds, including those whose native language is not English, and a commitment to a culturally diverse work environment
