GENERAL DUTIES

Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department.  This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Medical Curriculum Administrator must ensure that the medical components of the curriculum, both didactic and supervised clinical practice, meet current standards of medical practice; ensure physician instructional involvement in the training of polysomnographic technologists; and promote the cooperation and support of practicing physicians.

The Medical Curriculum Administrator will be responsible for all medical aspects of the program, including but not limited to:
- Review and approval of the educational content of the program curriculum to certify its ongoing appropriateness and medical accuracy.
- Review and approval of the quality of medical instruction, supervision, and evaluation of the students in all areas of the program.
- Review and approval of the progress of each student throughout the program and assist in the development of appropriate corrective measures when a student does not show adequate progress.
- Assurance of the competence of each graduate of the program in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains.
- Responsibility for cooperative involvement with the program director.
- Provision of adequate controls to ensure the quality of the delegated responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The Medical Curriculum Administrator must:
- Be a licensed physician board certified in sleep medicine
- Be an active member of the local medical community and participate in professional activities related to polysomnographic technology
- Be knowledgeable about the education of the polysomnographic technologist, including professional, legislative, and regulatory issues regarding the education of the polysomnographic technologist

COMPENSATION

$47.58/hr - $58.30/hr; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
