CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The College Laboratory Technician (CLT) shall perform laboratory functions and other technical duties of a skilled nature supporting instructional activities and research efforts of the Department. The CLT will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assume responsibilities for the diverse technical aspects and requirements (including set-ups) of classes and research programs of the department in food and nutrition, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, and nutrition and exercise sciences.
- Maintain appropriate safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain equipment and material inventories for the department.
- Identify sources and evaluate costs of equipment and supplies for faculty and students of laboratory classes and research projects.
- Provide regular maintenance to department equipment.
- Assist with the design, fabrication, and modification of equipment for the requirements of the teaching and research laboratories.
- Prepare and assist with the supervision of laboratory sections of undergraduate and graduate courses and research programs in dietetics, family and consumer science, and nutrition and exercise sciences.
- Supervise and provide guidance to assistants working in laboratories.
- Prepare supply budgets in coordination with the Department Chair.
- Perform all related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience.  Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.

COMPENSATION

$36,795 - $58,877
