|Responsibilities: Teaching Physical Education classes. Experience teaching the following classes are preferred: yoga, weight training, and step aerobics; as well as providing administrative assistance within the Wellness Program. Foster strong, positive learning environment for students. Assists the Director and Assistant Director with promoting, creating, executing, supervising and assessing all aspects of the Wellness program; including group exercise classes, fitness assessment, creating surveys, specialty classes, educational workshops, weight management programs, as well as make recommendations to the development , and implementation of the risk management plan, as well as serve as the personal trainer. As the Personal Trainer, candidates will provide guidance for proper exercise techniques and variations of exercises to meet goals; offer accurate and up-to-date information and advice on fitness; motivate and serve as a training partner; maintain a safe and clean exercise environment. All candidates should have the ability to follow all quality assurance other policies and procedures of the Facility. The ideal applicant will have prior collegiate teaching experience, as well as demonstrated, successful personal training and the required certifications (ex: fitness, CPR, AED/first aid). Through education, motivation, and leadership the personal trainer assists member-clients in establishing and reaching their fitness/wellness goals. Additional responsibilities include attending professional development events on and off campus. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred in Physical Education or a related field of study, with membership of NIRSA, and one or more certifications through a highly recognized professional organization (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA, or NASM).
