Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 3-6 years of appropriate experience. Degree requirements may be substituted for a combination of education, training, and experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in Marketing, Events Management, Arts Management (or a related field).

Three years of progressively responsible marketing and/or promotional experience within the field of performing arts, or similar work environment is desired.

A demonstrated ability to work within a complex environment that serves a wide variety of constituents.

Hands-on experience in all aspects of marketing and communications including promotions and publicity, e-marketing, producing marketing materials, placing advertisements, etc.

Proficiency with personal computers and various software packages.

Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Job Duties
  • Interacts with the Executive Director to develop marketing strategies that promote events held at Lisner Auditorium, including GWLisner Presented events, and rental client events. Coordinates advertising, campaigns and publicity plans, coordinates media placements and press releases; gathers information and writing copy for season brochures and other promotional materials; coordinates with graphic designers and mailing houses; and develops e-marketing strategies. Develops and implements marketing research opportunities for surveying audiences and clients, to include monitoring marketing trends in the performing arts field, recommending and implementing new marketing strategies, and evaluating completed marketing research and applying results to future marketing projects. Assists Program Manager is receiving and providing input regarding talent acquisition for performance related events.

  • Function:
  • Supervises the Artist Marketing Liaison position, working to maintain the Lisner Auditorium website, social media campaign, computerized mailing lists and drop-sites for promotional literature, develops on-campus marketing campaigns, and assists in developing venue marketing materials for rental clients.

  • Function:
  • Interacts with the Executive Director, to develop, manage and modify marketing budgets, as needed.

  • Function:
  • Represents the University at performing arts marketing functions. Maintains a current knowledge of local/national laws, regulations and trends regarding marketing operations. Enhances professional expertise through attendance at seminars, workshops and review of current literature.
