This is a professional position for the recruiting team within the larger HR department, there are always a variety of challenges and opportunities for collaboration and project work. *What your key responsibilities will be:* This position is a Professional Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist in Human Resources with a primary focus on providing staff recruiting services as a strategic partner for Boulder campus departments. This position will advise campus departments on recruitment strategies and processes to ensure a highly qualified and diverse applicant pool; actively sourcing qualified candidates for difficult to fill positions; devise recruiting and candidate assessment strategies for a position's qualifications and competencies; guide hiring managers through the final interviews and negotiating offers; provide training to campus constituents in a variety of staffing areas such as recruiting processes and best practices, strategic talent management, fair employment practices, interview guidance, reference checking, offer letters, and onboarding; advise campus departments on appropriate use and interpretation of Regent and University policies as well as applicable state and federal employment laws; and review and approve offer letters, addenda, PeopleSoft HRMS data, and other appointment or compensation related changes. Minimum Qualifications: *What we require:* * Bachelor's degree in human resource management, personnel administration, public administration, business administration, labor/industrial relations, psychology, sociology, political science, journalism or a closely related field AND * 2 years of human resource experience, which must include experience in recruiting/talent acquisition.
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *What you will need:* * Excellent and active listening skills with hiring managers and other constituents and the ability to comprehend the business needs and functions of a variety of campus departments. * Ability to think strategically by combining an understanding of a hiring manager's business needs with best practices in recruiting to devise a plan of action. * Ability to persuade and convince others of a plan of action by establishing subject matter expertise and understanding the political environment. * Knowledge of best practices and legal requirements related to sourcing and recruiting highly qualified and diverse applicant pools. * Ability to interpret state, federal and campus policies in a variety of situations to make legally acceptable decisions and guide departments on appropriate courses of action where guidance is unclear. * Comfortable with developing and conducting trainings in a variety of settings and with a variety of constituents.
