FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Puerto Rican and/or Latino/a Studies at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor of Puerto Rican and Latino Studies to begin in the Fall of 2015. 

The successful candidate should have a strong publishing record as a historian. Desirable teaching and research interests include, but are not limited to Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexicans, and Women.

In accord with Brooklyn College's distinguished reputation, emphasis is placed on excellent teaching skills at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  The successful candidate will teach in the nationally recognized core curriculum.  S/he is expected to maintain an active research agenda that will coincide with the department's mission.

We seek applicants who will participate in service to the students, department, college, university, and community.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Ph.D. in history or a related field; specializations in Latin and Latin American studies are required
- A secondary area of expertise in economics and/or health is also of interest
- Experience teaching and developing interdisciplinary courses

COMPENSATION

Associate Professor: $68,024 - $82,299
Full Professor: $85,356 - $102,253
Commensurate with experience and credentials. All appointments are subject to financial availability.
