One-Year, Full-Time, Non-Tenure-Track Lecturer in Spanish (2 positions)

Duties and Responsibilities: The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, College of Arts and Sciences, Loyola University Chicago (LUC), invites applications for two one-year, full-time, non-tenure-track positions at the rank of Lecturer for the 2014-15 academic year. The successful candidates for the positions will be joining a department with some 20 faculty members. The Spanish program serves more than 300 minors and currently has over 80 majors. The department also offers an M.A. program in Spanish. For more information, please visit The teaching load is four classes each during the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters, with a possible course reduction for administrative duties such as coordinating of one of the beginning levels. The successful candidate will teach courses in the beginning Spanish-language sequence (101-102) as well as intermediate levels of language (103,104, 250, 251) and/or literature classes (270-271) as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should hold an advanced degree in Spanish, with a track record of excellence in teaching in Spanish at the levels indicated. Candidates should be willing to support the mission of LUC and the goals of a Jesuit Catholic Education.
