Job Description Coordination of capital projects for the Department of Facilities of the University of South Carolina including overall monitoring of contract administration and the planning, design, bidding, construction, and close out phases of project performance. 2 positions available.

Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in engineering, an engineering related field, or architecture from an accredited college or university and 3 years of demonstrated years of project management experience including considerable experience with design and construction and management of major construction projects; Or a bachelor's degree in engineering, an engineering related field, or architecture from an accredited college or university and 5 years of demonstrated years of project management experience including considerable experience with design and construction and management of major construction projects. Candidates must have: Certification/registration as a professional engineer or architect in South Carolina within 6 months of hiring; Knowledge of principles and practices of modern architecture, design engineering and facility construction. Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the construction and modification of facilities. Knowledge of contract procedures, bidding procedures, architectural agreements and inspection procedures. Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations governing architectural or civil engineering project management for state highway construction, building construction or facility renovation projects. Ability to oversee the work of subordinate engineers or architects. Ability to establish positive working relationships with customers, superiors, subordinates, associates, design and construction consultants, state, local and federal professional personnel and other public and private sector organizations and individuals. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to prepare, review and revise plans and specifications. Ability to problem solve and utilize conscious decision making. Ability to build teams and involve stakeholders.
