Job Description:

Community Services is seeking an engaging and dynamic educator to instruct inner city, at-risk youth in HiSET Preparation during the Fall 2014 & Spring 2015 semesters.  Subjects covered include Social Studies (American History, Geography), essay writing and reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary.

Course meets weekly Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  beginning October 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015 with the potential of continued employment beyond.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   Must have a Bachelor's degree and experience teaching youth in the aforementioned academic areas.  Familiarity with the new 2014 HiSET Exam and experience using GED-HiSET preparation instructional materials is critical.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree and 5+ years Adult Basic Education GED/HiSET Preparation teaching experience or high school teaching experience.

COMPENSATION: $27/hr; no benefits.  Contingent on grant funding.
