Assistant Professor Ecology (Tenure-Track)
The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the area of ecology. Teaching responsibilities for the position could include General Biology, Field Methods in Ecology, General Ecology, Conservation Ecology, Organismal Diversity, Evolution, an elective in the area of specialty, and an upper division course in the candidate’s area of interest. Teaching duties are two courses per semester, including teaching in the campus-wide General Education Program and/or interactions with Environmental Science initiatives on campus. Although areas of research specialization are open, candidates are expected to develop a field and laboratory-based research program that engages a diverse group of undergraduate and Masters students all year-round. Additionally, candidates are expected to actively pursue external funding.
