Position Summary:
The Senior Associate Director of College Outreach and Partnerships, reports to the Director of Finance and Operations. The Senior Associate Director plays an integral team role in planning and coordinating alumni programming and events with the university’s individual colleges. Additionally the Senior Associate Director will be responsible for managing college based relationships and corporate partnerships for the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) as part of an overall strategic plan to develop a stronger alumni community. Outreach and programming includes, but is not limited to, faculty lectures, entrepreneurial discussions, benefits, and company or industry specific programs, allowing for increased content driven engagement.
As a primary point of contact for the colleges, the Senior Associate Director will:

(1) Enhance the existing relationships with the colleges and schools, other university departments

and corporate partners by developing and executing effective plans and timelines to establish, launch and sustain new partnerships;

(2) Act as a resource and a liaison for the colleges and schools, other university departments and corporate partners and identify how their needs intersect with our alumni outreach efforts in order to create and enhance programmatic offerings for alumni;

(3) Plan and produce successful educational and corporate events in conjunction with university objectives, from concept to post-mortem including, but not limited to, meetings, receptions, dinners, speaker’s series, and conferences within a given budget and in a fiscally responsible manner; and

(4) Work with colleagues in OAR to develop and implement efficient and effective communication templates, content, and policies to maximize the departments outreach to all alumni.
The Senior Associate Director will supervise an Associate Director and Program Assistant and represent the university and the Office of Alumni Relations and The Northeastern Fund (TNF) team in a professional, enthusiastic manner with a customer service and team focus. Public speaking ability is a key success factor for this position. Evening and weekend work required as needs dictate. Extensive domestic travel, some international travel, and a flexible schedule are required. Other duties as assigned, including assisting at several general events throughout the year.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree a plus. A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of experience required in all aspects of planning and producing programming and events or in alumni relations; Experience working in higher education a plus; Experience managing staff preferred; Expected to work with all colleges and corporate partnerships; Excellent event and volunteer management, organizational, communications (written and oral), interpersonal, public speaking, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce a plus); Detail oriented; High level of self-confidence and enthusiasm; Ability to be a self-starter; Strong customer service focus; Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with alumni, volunteers, students, staff, faculty, vendors and external entities; the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, on several projects at a time.
