The Student Success Advisor advises students on academic programs, curriculum, college and university academic policies and procedures. The advisor works directly with undergraduate students in a variety of disciplines to foster their academic success by developing, implementing and monitoring an academic action plan for success.
In addition, the advisor will have responsibility as assigned for other aspects of student success, advising for a special initiative assisting with new student orientations, or serving as contact to an administrative unit. The Student Success Advisor will also administer assessments and tests.

Proactively advises students towards retention and graduation through different outreach approaches; Effectively communicates the curriculum and graduation requirements for program, college and university academic policies and procedures; Acts as the assigned academic advisor for specific student populations and works with them from the admitted stage through graduation; Proactive with Faculty to ensure student success and completion of degree; Serves as proctor on a regular basis for assessments, student exams, or other tests as needed.

Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred in related field; 1 - 2 years academic advising or counseling experience; excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Knowledge of student and adult development theories and current trends in academic and student affairs; Word processing skills, database management, spreadsheets and web forms and Banner. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours at certain times in the quarter.
