Coordinator, Micro Computer Labs I - Round Rock Campus

Job Description: Responsible for providing computer support, technical support and training to Texas State University students, faculty and staff. Hire, train, supervise, and schedule student workers. Supervise the operations of computer labs and computerized classrooms. This technology based position places a major emphasis on customer service and proactive problem solving. Create and maintain lab based documents and procedures. Create, implement and maintain customer training manuals and procedures. Work under the direction of Microcomputer Lab Coordinator II and backup the Coordinator II position.

Required Qualifications: * Knowledge of: Windows OS, MS Office, desktop hardware and software.
* Skill in:
- Hiring,
- Training and working with student employees,
- Resolving software problems.
- Providing student customer service support.
* Work independently and cordially with faculty, staff and students.
*Knowledge of: microcomputer hardware and software.
* Skilled in providing end user software training in both one on one and group environments.
* Ability to interact with all levels of users, from new students to tenured faculty.
* Ability to make independent decisions.
* Ability to learn University specific software applications and help end users with these applications.
* Ability to learn computer lab equipment deployment and print control applications such as GHOST and PaperCut
* Must be able to work extended hours, sometimes on short notice.
* Analyze and resolve technology problems.
* Perform flexible job duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in school environment specifically working directly students both from a customer service standpoint as well as a hiring manager.
* Experience working and training people in both: one on one and group setting
* Experience working in a University setting.
* Experience with providing exceptional customer service experience.

WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week to include evenings Mon-Wed or Tues-Thur, as well as Saturday for 4 day work week or Friday and Saturday for a 5 day work week. Hours may change.
