Job Description: Prairie State College seeks innovative adjunct faculty to teach a variety of composition course offerings. Successful candidates will demonstrate the following: excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a flexible, student-centered approach to teaching writing; the ability to engage a diverse student population; and familiarity with research/scholarship concerning pedagogy in the composition classroom and the community college environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at the community college level strongly preferred; priority will be given to candidates with graduate coursework and/or training in the teaching of writing. Anticipated Work Hours and Days Day and evening classes available. Anticipated start dates of 08/19/14 and/or 09/12/14. Compensation: Adjunct faculty members at PSC are paid by the number of hours they are in the classroom (contact hours). Pay Schedule for Adjunct Faculty: 1-2 Semesters $686 per contact hour 3-6 Semesters $705 per contact hour 7-23 Semesters $736 per contact hour 24+ Semesters $747 per contact hour
