Posting Description: *+What you will do:+* *Management of Alumni Events and Outreach:* *Plan, manage and execute all the logistics for up to 20 local and regional events for the Office of Alumni Engagement each fiscal year, including: receptions, pre-games, board meetings, networking events, presentations and awards ceremonies. *Responsible for site research, vendor identification, contract negotiations, marketing and promotion, event tracking, donor reporting as well as event-day execution and post-event follow-up. Design events to foster alumni engagement and provide visibility for the school. *Responsible for executing four football pregame events each fall engaging approximately 2000 alumni and friends of the School; Spearhead the on-campus venue reservation process by liaising with multiple units around campus; In line with University and State of Colorado policies, oversee the application process for four special event permits; Ensure events are executed in accordance with the public event policies as defined by the University of Colorado. *Plan and organize the school's annual signature recognition event, the Distinguished Alumni and Service Awards. Working closely with Development colleagues, this important event honors alumni achievement and service to the school. *Collaborate with Leeds Development staff and other Leeds or CU departments on relevant alumni/prospect/donor events. Manage event communication and logistics requiring collaboration with a number of Leeds and University contacts and teams. *Oversee the nomination process for University or community-sponsored recognition programs and events including the CU-Boulder Alumni Association Alumni Awards. *Collaborate with Leeds annual giving staff to educate current students about the importance of volunteerism and philanthropy to their student experience and to encourage alumni engagement. *Identify, manage and train students and event volunteers. *Perform online research and benchmarking activities to support the development and continuous improvement of the alumni engagement office. *Marketing, Communication and Public Relations:* Working with Leeds Marketing and Communications: *Coordinate messaging and communication to internal and external audience for all alumni engagement programs and services via a variety of media, including: email, newsletters, website, social media (Facebook and LinkedIn), event invitations, surveys, brochures, postcards, and other outlets as needed. *Support office programming through coordination and consistent communication. Identify opportunities to leverage and collaborate on events and communications with other offices at Leeds, other alumni offices around campus, and with the CU-Boulder Alumni Association. *Maintain and coordinate calendars for all programs and events in conjunction with other Leeds offices and offices across campus. *Manage the newly launched alumni portion of the Leeds website ensuring timely and relevant content updates and content creation. *Generate alumni story ideas for print and electronic communications including the school's bi-annual magazine. *Manage social media channels with an alumni audience - with a focused emphasis on LinkedIn. *Manage the email account and respond to individual alumni questions/concerns/inquiries in a professional and timely manner. *Collaborate with alumni colleagues on campus and at the CU-Boulder Alumni Association on a regular basis to optimize campus and school outreach and communication efforts. *Budget Oversight, Data Management, and Program Support:* *Maintain and enhance alumni data and contact information in the shared CU-System alumni and fundraising database; including events tracking, award recognition, applicable notes and contact reports. *Assist in the planning and tracking of the budget and expenses for office programs. Prepare and update budget information for strategic planning and reporting documents. *Track and manage expenses for office programs and events. *Work with departments and programs to identify opportunities to engage, recognize, and communicate with alumni and facilitate the collection/distribution of alumni information between departments and the Advance database. *Responsible for pulling email and mailing list reports for event invitations, targeted communications, and data analysis. *Oversee ordering and inventory of promotional items for the office. *Assess the impact of alumni interactions by tracking attendance/contact and the person's subsequent involvement with the School, such as volunteering and/or giving. Provide an annual report on alumni programs and impact, and other reports on request. *Volunteer Management:* *Identify, develop, and manage volunteer and engagement opportunities within the school for alumni and other interested parties. *Foster engagement of recent graduates by supporting the efforts of the Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Board and its various work groups; Provide logistical and program support of their initiatives, conference calls, board meetings, and events. *Foster engagement of MBA alumni by supporting the efforts of the MBA Alumni Board and its various work groups; Provide logistical and program support of their initiatives, conference calls, board meetings, and events. *Research and develop a system for connecting willing volunteers with appropriate opportunities and tracking their involvement. *Serve as a representative of the school and the alumni office with when meeting with alumni or in conjunction with alumni events. --- *What we can offer:* Salary range starting at $37,500 and commensurate with skills and experience. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree - Relevant event planning, business, communications and/or marketing experience - Ability to work with a diverse population including alumni, current students, staff, faculty, administration, donors and the business community - Conversant with program development in non-profit, academic environments -Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and complex environment -Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Record of success in developing programs and organizing events -Ability to develop relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and experience -Ability to make decisions and to address and resolve issues independently -Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills -Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner

Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Desired Qualifications: -Experience in higher education alumni relations, communications, volunteer recruitment, development and/or related areas, with proven track record of success -Basic understanding of higher education or other non-profit fundraising methodologies -Knowledge of database management tools (Advance) and experience in data analysis and report generation from large databases -Knowledge of email and event marketing tools for mass emails and registration management -Ability to edit websites using HTML or content management system such as Drupal or Wordpress preferred -Desktop publishing experience and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
