The Dean's Office provides administrative support and guidance to more than one dozen departments and programs, and is responsible for ensuring the overall effectiveness of CEAS. *What your key responsibilities will be:* As the Accounting and Payroll Specialist, your key responsibilities will be: _Financial Account Maintenance:_ * Process journal entries and provide backup budget journal entry support * Coordinate property accounting for CEAS Dean's Office * Coordinate Concur PCARD, Travel Card, and reimbursement processing * Submit purchasing requests in CU Marketplace * Reviews and reconciles monthly statements for CEAS accounts and initiates corrections * Assist with annual survey data and budget data collection * Provide backup support to the Manager of Budget and Finance, as well as provide financial support to departments, as needed. _Human Resources and Payroll:_ * Coordinate and enter monthly time collection for Dean' Office staff plus a few additional CEAS programs * Process payroll expense transfers, hand drawn warrant requests, and additional pay forms * Reviews and approves faculty summer appointments in HRMS, ensuring compliance with the 3/9 Rule * Provides basic guidance on appropriate type of student appointment; enters and approves appointments for all student hourly employees in the Dean's Office * Collaborates with the Director of Human Resources on Family Medical Leave (FML) requests; maintains FML records and advises employees and supervisors regarding FML, consulting with the Office of Labor Relations as needed * Schedules meetings, reserves meeting rooms; scans, copies, and distributes data for review; * Manages the faculty and staff paper files, and determines what can be destroyed, stored electronically, or stored as paper files * Oversees tracking of annual plans, evaluations, and coaching sessions for classified employees, and communicates reminders and deadlines to supervisors * Serves as backup to the Director of Human Resources during planned absences or as needed * Helps with Dean's Office events as needed * Provides coverage for Dean's Executive Assistant as needed * Assists with keeping faculty and staff policies and procedures on the CEAS website updated. --- *What we can offer:* The salary for this position is $3,350-$3,700 per month. Minimum Qualifications: *What we require:* * *Must be a current Colorado resident in order to apply.* * Three years of work experience related to accounting, finance, human resources, and/or payroll support. * A bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university or non-correspondence school course work related to the work assignment may substitute for the required experience.
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *What you will need:* * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. * Ability to work independently as well as on a team. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Ability to adjust schedule as needed to accommodate busy work times.
Desired Qualifications: *What we'd like you to have:* * Experience working in a higher education setting. * Experience utilizing CU Marketplace, Purchase Order, or Standing Purchase Order. * Experience utilizing Concur expense system. * Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS and Finance, COGNOS financial reporting. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Critical thinking and problem solving skills. * Professional work experience in accounting, finance, human resources, and/or payroll support. _Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified._
