Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:

Responsible for performing professional level work associated with the planning, coordinating and administering a college career services program applicable to student career planning, job search and employment activities. Develops, implements and monitors programs to assist students in job search process. Develops methods to track and promote retention in career services area. Conducts individual student career counseling and individual assistance in resume preparation, occupational research, interviewing techniques, job search strategies, and other career related concerns. Utilizes computer software related to career services. Conducts student career planning activities in various settings such as, individual, group, telephone, and/or online. Initiates and maintains job development activities. Meets with representatives from the local business community to develop employment opportunities activities and events. Develops and implements special career related programs and events such as job fairs, career week activities, seminars, workshops, and/or other campus initiatives. Conducts various types of workshops regarding job search and career planning; prepares information materials for distribution to students. Monitors budget and expenditures. Recommends new programs and assists in promoting individual student career assessment activities. Provides data used in grant application/reporting process and may monitor grant allocation. Supervises and evaluates career services personnel primarily consisting of part-time staff and student assistants. Performs related work as required.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in counseling, human resources, sociology, psychology or related field plus three years of related or Associate's degree in counseling, human resources, sociology, psychology or related field plus five years of related experience. Advanced knowledge of computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and ability to develop and implement methods and procedures. Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with persons from diverse backgrounds. The ability to provide quality customer service.
