About The Unit:

Unit Job Summary: Executive Administrator: Perform duties as the top administrative officer for the department. Plan, coordinate, and direct broad and complex financial and management functions of the Department in support of teaching, medical research, and clinical care. Facilitate research initiative of the faculty and staff. Develop short and long-term planning for the business affairs of the unit/department including offsite clinical programs. Oversee, plan, guide, and evaluate the non-medical activities of the department. Manage the implementation, direction, and policy development in areas of finance, professional fee billing, grants/contracts, human resources, academic affairs, facility operations, IT, and residency programs. Responsibilities may include full or partial management of hospital functions including outpatient clinical services. Supervise a large staff of exempt employees. Reports directly to the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics.

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in business, accounting, or a related field required. Advanced degree in business, health care administration or related field preferred.

Unit Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative/supervisory experience required. A minimum of five years of healthcare and/or academic medical experience required. A minimum of five years of experience with billing and collection required. Experience negotiating on behalf of a unit in order to accomplish goals required. Experience accomplishing goals within timeframe and within budget required. Strong financial background preferred.
