Position Summary: Responsible for administrative and fund development activities that support the College's advancement efforts; assist with overall administration of the Development and Alumni Relations Office; Prospect/Donor Identification, Cultivation, and Stewardship - compile, analyze, and create reports based on data from internal and external sources regarding donors and prospects; research, identify, and draft biographical information on possible prospects for the College - gathering the alumni/donor history of gifts, pledges, and professional history; assist development officers with screening information; assist in preparation for cultivation and solicitation visits; work with faculty, Communications team, and staff to prepare annual endowment stewardship reports for donors; assist with coordination of in- and out-of-state alumni and donor receptions and/or functions; assist with planning and execution of annual event to recognize donors that have created endowed or named funds in the College; maintain/monitor tracking of College's top prospects in Advance; prepare bi-annual reports on rated prospect distribution and activity within geographical regions; track team member moves with College's top identified prospects; coordinate process for submitting donor/prospect names for the President's Box/Stadium seating for football/basketball games; manage distribution process for all donor society mementos and special recognition gifts; prepare briefing papers on donors/prospects; assist development directors in preparing proposals, pledge forms, and endowment agreements; develop and maintain database tracking donors/alumni that have participated in a College-based activity; coordinate process for submitting nominations for annual Philanthropist of the Year Awards; coordinate selection/distribution of donor/prospect tickets for games and other MSU activities; work with faculty/staff in the College to develop a calendar and tracking system for when alumni and donors visit the College to speak in class or for a College-related function; develop a system for sending birthday cards to major donors; assist in the development of an Informational Toolkit and communication materials for fundraisers to use while visiting with donors; Programming/Technology - organize and streamline office procedures; provide reports using Forest and Trees, Access, Advance, Cognos, Excel, etc. maintain development office schedules; track and schedule meetings; update Advance database; provide labels/reports for various College departments and development officers, using Advance Web and ART; merge letters; maintain spreadsheets; download gift information from Advance; prepare departmental reports; create/maintain databases for College Development Office or departments; update/maintain development Web site; Gift Processing and Acknowledgement - oversee process for accepting, reporting, tracking, and acknowledging all gifts directed to the College; Budget/Management - provide oversight of department's budget and ledger maintenance; assist Senior Director of Development in establishing and preparing annual budget and budgetary guidelines; Office Management - assist in coordination, scheduling, and confirmation of meetings and appointments with donors, alumni, and University personnel; prepare/enter contact reports, proposals, and related development reports in Advance database; provide information and/or direct individuals requesting information to the appropriate University or external sources based on knowledge of development function and University policies/procedures; provide support to the College's Campaign Advisory Board by coordinating meeting logistics and assisting the senior director with presentations, reports, and board member communications; assist with travel arrangements for senior director; assist in development of department's annual operating plan.

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in communications, public relations, or marketing; up to six months of related work experience in professional fundraising, public relations, marketing, or a related field; experience with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint software; experience with Advance, Advance Web, and Advance ART; experience with Event Data Download.
