Position Summary: Plans and develops university-level integrated marketing communications and other priority communications produced by the department in its work to advance diversity and inclusion; serves as a key team member and is responsible for leading communications projects; works on office strategic communications plan; updates content and design for the office Web site(s); develops and helps execute strategies to enhance social media presence providing editorial content that meets high professional standards for quality and accuracy; coordinates conceptualization, writing, editing, and production of office publications, news releases, brochures, invitations, and/or related materials and updates content and design for office Web site(s); uses a data-driven, analytical approach to reach goals.

Support Staff: Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field; up to six months of related work experience in public and media relations, composing, editing and publication production, news and print media, and/or marketing, advertising, and creative services; experience with Web content editing and design; experience with word processing, presentation, and desktop publishing software; experience in graphic design; experience with public presentations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Two years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience; ability to work in standard industry design software and content management systems; experience working in a higher education or agency environment; strong interpersonal and networking skills with individuals and groups in diverse settings; ability to be resourceful; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, teamwork-oriented environment that involves staying abreast of the latest relevant news, social media, and communication technologies for advancing the profile of the office; experience managing projects and meeting multiple deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work autonomously with sound judgment; excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
