Responsible for coordinating graduate admissions process for department in conjunction with the Graduate Admission's Office. Coordinates doctoral and master's comprehensive exams and candidacy paperwork. Creates courses on My Student Central and keeps records for Directed Independent Studies, Thesis and Dissertation hours, and comprehensive exams. Composes and distributes assistantship offer letters for new and current students. Enters departmental waivers into Student Central. Maintains and updates graduate student files, Graduate Student Tracking system, and department databases as needed. Monitors Grade Roster submission and acts as department grade roster delegate as needed.
High school diploma/equivalency and two years of experience in an office environment. (Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at an equivalent rate.).
Experience working in an office environment to include administrative/clerical duties involving customer service, correspondence, and record keeping. Computer skills to include experience with Microsoft Word and Excel or comparable software. Ability to function independently, prioritize responsibilities, and make sound decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments; establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
Knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures related to graduate admissions, and waivers. Ability to work independently. Experience with computer databases and PowerPoint. Previous training in My Student Central.
Working knowledge of Secure Apps in Blackboard.
Anticipated Salary Range
The minimum annual salary for the classification of this position is $22,900. The department may hire at or above the minimum based on education and experience.
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Background Check Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
