Instructional Designer SUNY Cortland SUNY Cortland seeks applicants for an Instructional Designer. The successful candidate will report to The Associate Director of The Help Center. Major responsibilities include developing and supporting teaching with technology; assisting and supporting faculty in the development of appropriate teaching and learning strategies; utilizing instructional technologies-based in instructional design theory; advising faculty in the development of instructional materials, the application of pedagogy in technology based teaching, instructional technology tools and the development and use of online materials in the delivery of instruction; maintaining regular communication and contact with other technology providers in Information Resources; maintaining awareness and understanding of new and emerging technologies and making recommendations for new services or initiatives as appropriate; coordinating workshops for students and faculty in the use of SMARTboards in the P-12 environment including arranging for in-class instruction, follow-up and assessment; responsible for maintaining current competencies and familiarity with the literature related to the best instructional practices using technology for teaching and learning, focusing specifically on technologies currently available at the campus; sharing such knowledge with faculty and other college customers to provide appropriately grounded information on instructional strategies using technology. Required qualifications: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university in instructional technology, development, teaching or curriculum development; demonstrable ability to learn new technologies and produce support documentation; familiarity with learning management systems, specifically Blackboard; experience with K-12 technologies and ability to transfer knowledge to pre-service teachers; demonstrated experience with SMART technologies and pedagogical approaches to these tools.
