Position Summary: Michigan State University invites applications for tenure system faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level focused on computational and data issues related to genomics, genetics and personalized medicine. This cluster of positions will be associated with a new Department of Biomedical Engineering, a new Quantitative Health Science and Engineering Institute, or other departments across the Colleges of Human Medicine, Natural Science and Engineering. MSU's program will focus on the development of computational tools necessary for large-scale application of genomics. We are particularly interested in scalable pipelines for processing and analyzing genomic data related to disease and wellbeing, with a particular focus on cancer genomics.

Applications are invited from researchers in areas such as computational and statistical genomics, bioinformatics, and cancer genomics. This search seeks to build significant research expertise in these areas and will likely be followed by additional hires over multiple years. Academic department will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and credentials.

A Ph.D. with strong evidence of research accomplishments, teaching skills, and an ability to work effectively with other researchers. Candidates are expected to develop a research program of international visibility with a solid educational component. He or she is also expected to participate in other MSU campus programs, including the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (iCER), which supports a high performance computing infrastructure and a developing data science/computational science program.
