Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:
Provides technology leadership in the coordination and support of the integration of technology into the areas of assessment and instruction. Demonstrates software and on-line applications to faculty and staff, provides on-line and on-site training modules and workshops, assists with groups of student users where necessary, and participates in evaluation processes. Plans and develops training for delivery to faculty and staff on various computer-based applications utilizing on-line modules, written guides and/or workshops and participates as instructor. Assesses training needs for related staff and students; develops and delivers workshops and supporting documentation. Assists in the testing and evaluation of new technologies, recommends purchase and develops strategic plans for future acquisitions. Assists team leaders and other faculty in preparing student-training materials for instructional applications. Assists with evaluating achievement of grant goals and objectives. Performs other duties as assigned.
May be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.

Bachelor's degree or higher in related area plus two years of experience in educational technology or Associate's degree or higher in related area plus four years of experience in educational technology or high school graduate plus six years of experience in educational technology. Ability to use a variety of software applications. Ability to utilize computer technology to create instructional materials to access data, analyze findings, prepare and generate reports and communicate with others in a diverse environment. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively. Strong knowledge and experience in providing effective customer service. Official transcripts will be required. *Will be subject to a criminal background check.*
Position Specific Qualifications:
Supports the integration of technology in Distance Education. Assists Director in troubleshooting faculty and student issues with regard to distance learning services and delivery of materials to students. Maintains logs of web-based equipment for inventory records. Creates or prepares guides, manuals and other documents needed to provide technical tutoring and support. Assists with SACs, THECB and other reporting requirements related to Distance Education. Collects and maintains statistical data related to distance education. Assists in the review of the college distance learning schedule pages. Assists in the testing and evaluation of new technologies, recommends purchase and develops strategic plans for future acquisitions. Collaborates with staff reviewing and/or recommending a variety of distance learning services and student marketing/recruitment activities that insure adequate support for program delivery. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications is essential. Must have strong analytical skills. Knowledge of Quality Matters a plus.
