Educational Consultant- Partial Year Schedule
The Educational Consultant will coordinate and provide teacher professional development for the EGAME and EPIGAME grants and to oversee data collection in schools for the grants.
Key Functions and Expected Performances:
Take mobile computer lab to local schools and train and support teachers in using the curriculum with their classes.
Distribute and collect consent and assent forms.
Supervise pre-test and post-test data collection, and coordinate rewards at lunch time for students who brought back signed consent and assent forms (as specified in the IRB protocol for the grants).
Recruit teachers and meet with the development team to refine/revise the software based on observations and data collection.
The educational consultant needs to be reliable and responsible and have access to a dependable vehicle. We reimburse for mileage. Schools are in MNPS and Freedom Special School District. The educational consultant also needs to be physically able to bring the equipment out to the schools and back to Vanderbilt. The equipment includes 3 milk crates of 11" mac book airs (each crate weighs about 25 pounds) along with a backpack that has 13" macbook air and router that are the server (10 pounds). In addition, there are two duffle bags of extension cords and power adapters for the computers.
Preferred Education, Skills, and Experiences:
Bachelor's and 3 years of experience or the equivalent required. Master's degree highly preferred.
Teaching experience highly preferred.
This is a full-time, benefit-eligible Partial Year Schedule (PYS) position. The academic year runs from August - May.
