Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 8-10 years of relevant experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


Desired Qualifications:

Degree in business or higher education.

Progressively responsible professional experience in housing operations and financial management.

Prior management experience.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong analytical, financial budgeting, and management skills, including the ability to oversee and complete multiple complex priorities simultaneously.

Job Duties
Function:
  • Leads and manages the GW Housing team including oversight of the academic year assignment process of over 7,500 beds and counsels and advises all community constituents of housing policies and contractual responsibilities. Manages, trains, and supervises staff in the implementation of regulations, policies and procedures, and administers performance throughout the year.

  • Function:
  • Leads and manages the DSA Financial Services team including oversight of financial resources including accounts receivable and accounts payable in excess of $85,000,000 annually; ensures compliance with existing federal, district and university financial policies and procedures.

  • Function:
  • Leads collaborative efforts with campus partners, including the DSA Finance Director to ensure accurate financial reporting and processing; the Division of Operations and the Office of the General Counsel on the interpretation of BZA and District government directives and regulations; and the Center for Student Engagement on a variety of housing-related projects including residential transitions, building inspections, renovations and construction projects.

  • Function:
  • Evaluates income generating capabilities, housing capacities, and estimated income and expenses across the division, including contributions, donations, grants and fundraising. This includes analysis of past budgetary performance and projections for revenues and expenses. Prepares financial reports on a quarterly basis and makes recommendations to improve financial operations.

  • Function:
  • Supervises four full-time professional staff and a team of 13 full-time staff.

  • Function:
  • Forecasts occupancy rates, needs, shortfalls, surpluses, trends, and patterns to ensure maximum revenue generation and building usage. Prepares reports, forms, and statistical materials for presentation to the Executive Vice President and Treasurer's Office.

  • Function:
  • Acts on behalf of the Associate Dean of Administration in her/his absence.
