Job Description Summary:
The Senior Assistant Director of Admissions participates in all aspects of the admissions and recruitment process. Specific responsibilities include representing GW to prospective students, and leading presentations for them and their families both on and off campus; managing domestic and international recruitment territories; using data to build, implement, and analyze strategic and creative recruitment plans; engaging in professional development activities; arranging and conducting individual interviews and interview weekends; assisting with on-campus recruitment events; evaluating domestic and international freshman and transfer applications; leading admission committee meetings; developing and maintaining professional relationships with key secondary schools and community based organization; and working with alumni, parent, and current student volunteers to support GW's enrollment objectives. He/she also coordinates various programmatic functions of the office, which may include supervision of professional or student staff.

A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 5-6 years of appropriate experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Three or more years of professional experience in admissions or a closely related field is strongly preferred. Previous experience as a regional representative is preferred.
Please note that this position requires significant travel and work on evenings and weekends. Should be available to work a varied schedule to include evenings, holidays and weekends.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Manages domestic and international recruitment territories, using data to build and implement strategic and creative recruitment plans to including relationship development with key stakeholders, travel, and targeted communications.
Evaluates domestic and international freshman and transfer applications; makes admission recommendations; presents cases in committee; may play a leadership role in committee review.
Represents the University both on campus and off campus via information sessions, special events, interviews, high school visits, college fairs, group travel programs, high school counselor events, etc.
Participates in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies; evaluates effectiveness of admissions and recruitment initiatives; makes recommendations for enhanced yield activities. Coordinates programmatic functions of the office, which may include supervision of professional or student staff.
