Assistant Professor Electrical Engineering

LOCATION:Engineering and Technology Department, Multi-Campus SALARY:Commensurate with education and experience APPOINTMENT: Beginning Fall 2014 Academic year work schedule; Tenure-track position ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach courses related to electrical engineering, electrical technology, electromechanical systems and computer networking Teach both day and evening courses as part of their normal teaching responsibilities Teach at multi-campus locations as part of their normal teaching responsibilities Must be willing to receive training for industry certifications as required by department needs. This includes Cisco Certified Network Associate, Siemens Mechatronics Instructor and other technology certifications Use innovative instructional strategies that support student success and recognize diverse learning styles Demonstrate commitment to the community college mission and its diverse student populations Participate in college activities including committee work and program development Contribute to a dynamic teaching/learning environment requiring adaptability, creativity, and teamwork Other related duties as relating to student and department needs QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on electromechanical systems or mechatronics Must demonstrate ability to teach technical subject matter at the appropriate student level Must have experience with Programmable Logical Controllers, microprocessors, electromechanical components, motors, and generators Must have experience with electric circuit, energy and system simulation applications Must have strong basic computer skills, including system and machine level programming Must have strong oral and written communication skills Should have industry experience in electrical engineering and electromechanical systems Should have professional experience with problem solving and conflict resolution Should have project management experience and collaborative teamwork Should have grant writing experience and grant management experience APPLICATION PERIOD: JULY 23, 2014 – AUGUST 13, 2014 (This date includes a five-day grace period.
