Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager, HRM Operations, leverages strong analytical and sound decision making skills when managing the day-to-day operations and various processes of the HR Operations function. S/he provides leadership, guidance & direction to the HR Operations team and is responsible for people management decisions.
As a service entity providing human resources transactions and support to faculty, staff, student employees and temporary employees, this position ensures accurate, efficient and timely processing of HR-related transactions and prompt resolution of any issues related to transactions or data. This position oversees the maintenance of employee data in employee records in the HR Systems.
The Assistant Manager will provide oversight of any issues affecting each payroll with the respective University department. S/he ensures proper payment of University employees by reviewing audits prior to completing multiple payrolls and integrity reports after the payrolls are finalized. The incumbent is responsible for data integrity of the HRM System and creates various reports and audits (with HRIS) to monitor all transactions and assure accuracy in reporting for all areas relying on HR data.
This position has the lead/primary support responsibility for the annual salary & merit review process for the faculty and administrative/professional and office support employees. The incumbent participates in technical projects related to the HRM system, user acceptance testing and testing.

S/he also addresses customer service issues and demonstrates excellent customer service to users.

1. Bachelor’s degree with 4 – 6 years of experience, preferably in HR Operations in a higher education environment

2. Working knowledge of HR transaction processing and demonstrated experience in achieving process improvements within a service center environment;

3. Exceptional management skills including a demonstrated ability to deploy resources appropriately to meet day-to-day deliverables and work load;

4. Proven exceptional accuracy and thoroughness in complex computations and payments.

5. A self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work under limited supervision, use creative problem-solving skills, and effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines.

6. A customer-service orientation and be able to work in a face-paced, high volume environment.

7. Demonstrates solid judgment in decision making and in regular communications with the appropriate management

8. Demonstrates the use of technology to streamline processes

9. In depth knowledge of HR & Payroll systems, experience with Banner HR a plus.
