Educational Experience Requirement: Master's Degree in Education, Higher Education or a related Field. Three years experience in higher education or a related field. Experience in Department of Education grants or work with TRIO Programs desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature and Purpose of Position: Manages McNair grant and office. Oversees alumni relations for Graduate Studies and provides inclusion and retention services for Graduate Studies and McNair.
Primary Responsibilities: Manages McNair Office to include the budget. Advertises and promotes the McNair program. Manages retention inclusion services and alumni services for Graduate Studies. Reviews and edits dissertations and theses. Provides workshops and seminars for McNair and graduate students. Co-teaches McNair course. Tracks students for McNair grant and assists in preparing yearly performance report. Manages purchasing paperwork, travel paperwork, and assists in recruiting students. Develops and manages alumni relations. Establishes procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications: Contacts involve university departments, distance education, prospective students, current students, state agencies, Department of Education, McNair Scholars, and alumni. This is a grant funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding.
