Posting Description: * Develop and drive adoption of enterprise-wide information architecture standards that improve usability, increase findability and enable more effective content sharing across the enterprise. * Meet with executive leadership, technical and non-technical groups to analyze their business needs and identify SharePoint information architecture solutions. * Create and structure the site and metadata architecture including site columns, content types, social metadata and content type hierarchies using concept maps, site maps, taxonomy schemas and personas. * Define and implement standards and processes for content lifecycle management, taxonomy development, maintenance of centralized schemas, and metadata management. * Establish and chair a taxonomy and term store change control board of subject matter experts within the university responsible for analyzing, validating, documenting and implementing change requests. * Assist with developing and delivering client presentations, project proposals and scope documentation. * Communicate requirements to developers using business, functional and technical specifications, flow charts, storyboards, wireframes, concept designs, use cases, and process diagrams. * Regularly conduct workshops with business units to enhance the overall information retrieval experience. * Serve as subject matter expert to the university community as it adapts to new methods of collaboration, communication, business process automation and analysis using SharePoint. * Help establish a Center of Excellence for SharePoint through leadership, evangelization, best practices, research, support and training.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree. * 3 years' experience working as an information architect or user experience architect in a higher education, corporate, or ecommerce environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. * 3 years' experience with SharePoint taxonomy creation, including metadata, content classification, controlled vocabularies and social tagging systems, content architecture (content types, metadata requirements and search configuration recommendations (best bets, thesaurus, search UI).
Substitution: Work experience in the occupational field or specialized subject area of the work assigned to the job may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the degree

Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to bring an end-user focus to all projects taking into account both content creator and content consumer perspectives. * Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of business objectives and organizational structures in a large and complex organization with diverse and numerous constituents through stakeholder interviews, focus groups, networking, surveys, etc. * Proficient in developing and managing clear documentation of project details including sitemaps, wireframes, user flows and content outlines for marketing, development and design teams. * Solid understanding of SharePoint functionality for 2010, 2013 versions. Your level of understanding must be complete and deep enough to connect information architecture requirements to SharePoint functionality in order to best advise clients on potential solutions. * Strong English written and verbal communication. * Strong interpersonal skills, tactfulness, customer-service ethic and follow-through are a must. * Must be a confident self-starter who possesses tenacity, curiosity, and a penchant for detail. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, detail-oriented environment. * Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills. * Must be comfortable making decisions independently as well as within a team framework where ongoing collaboration among team members and various interconnecting projects is a must. * A team player, always willing to lend a helping hand and contribute to a positive team culture. * In-depth knowledge of Information Architecture best practices for A/B and multivariate testing, user surveys, wireframes and prototypes, user flows, design patterns, user profiles and personas, content inventory and content style guides * Proficient with tracking information architecture related success metrics in Google Analytics. * Familiar with front-end technologies like CSS, JavaScript and HTML.

Desired Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: * Hands-on experience designing information architecture and user interfaces that best leverage new SharePoint 2013 functionality including term store navigation, cross-site publishing and search-based applications. * Experience with developing documentation templates. * Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) for requirements, project, testing and release management. * Experience with Agile development methodologies. * Experience working with or for a higher education institution. * Experience with MS Project or Project Server. * Experience with application lifecycle management (ALM) methodologies and how they pertain to incorporating information architecture requirements into larger development projects. * Experience training end-users and troubleshooting issues.
