Windows Security Specialist

Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Office of Information Technology's (OIT) Systems & Hosted Services unit (SHS) is located within Infrastructure, Systems & Operations (ISO). SHS offers Windows and Active Directory-based infrastructure services and solutions that support the enterprise. SHS works collaboratively with campus IT to deliver the core Active Directory infrastructure for the NC State community, and provides hosted Windows Server services to campus departments, hosting custom and third-party applications in a secure, managed environment. In addition, infrastructure support is provided to OIT's managed desktop environment, supporting administrative offices throughout the university.
Essential Job Duties: This position functions as a systems administrator specializing in Windows security and regulatory compliance. It serves as an applied security resource that will enable NC State enterprise Windows and Active Directory services to be configured to comply with other security-related regulations. The focus of this position is the practical application of security best practices to Windows system administration, including required documentation. It is directly responsible for the system administration of servers that are subject to the PCI DSS standards.
Department Required Skills : - At least 3 years of Windows system administration experience - Specific experience in the area of Windows server security
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: - PCI-P Certification - At least 5 years of Windows system administration experience. - Specific experience in the area of compliance
