Duties and Responsibilities: Loyola University Chicago, College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Fine and Performing Arts invites applications for a non-tenure track, three-year appointment in Music specializing in Wind Ensemble and Pep Band Direction beginning August 11, 2014. The Music Program offers a B.A. in Music in the liberal arts tradition. Students may choose to focus their major on general music, jazz studies or sacred music. For more information about the Music Program at Loyola, please visit is website at http://luc.edu/dfpa/ensembles/index.shtml Applicants will be required to teach and direct the Wind Ensemble and University Pep Band as well as teach courses in Music Appreciation. Coordination of ensembles is a responsibility of this position as well as coordination of bands for graduation and recruitment events. Secondary emphasis in teaching applied music in private instruction is desirable. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of music repertoire for teaching diverse styles and levels appropriate to a population of students made up of majors, minors and non-majors. Other duties will be commensurate with expertise and abilities.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a degree M.M or DM in Music, experience in ensemble direction and administration as well as a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at all levels.
