Job Description: Staff Counselors employed by the Center for Counseling and Student Development may report to either the Director or Associate Director of the Center for Counseling and Student Development. Position Duties Counseling individuals and groups regarding personal, social, career and academic development. Provide crisis intervention services including consultation, evaluation, counseling, referral, and follow-up. These services include rotating coverage of daytime emergency crisis services and after-hours on call for evenings, weekends and holidays. Carry out administrative duties as assigned by the Director. Plan, conduct and evaluate outreach programs and services designed to facilitate student development and work cooperatively with university colleagues in developing and implementing quality programs. Participate in ongoing evaluative procedures of Center programs and services. Participate in ongoing professional development through in-service education programs conducted in the center, on campus, and/or professional organizations. Provide in-class instruction through outreach presentations and, when requested and possible, teach college adjustment courses. Providing supervision of graduate level trainees, pre-doctoral level interns and, when appropriate, staff counselors toward licensure as psychologists according to NC Psychology Board statutes.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy, or terminal degree in other appropriate human services field. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
