Executive Physician of UNM Health System Clinics
The Executive Physician of Clinics provides strategic direction and administrative oversight for the UNM Health Systems Clinics which include nearly 100 hospital based and medical group clinics with approximately $350M of revenue. This includes developing and implementing a strategic vision; locating, organizing and overseeing effective programs and efficient services; guiding ambulatory quality initiatives; providing fiscal oversight; developing collaborative relationships leading to the effective clinical and financial growth and service coordination. The Executive Physician of Clinics is a faculty member of the UNM School of Medicine and will report directly to UNM Health System Executive Physician-in-Chief with a secondary reporting relationship to the UNM Health System Chief Operating Officer. This is an open rank/track position.
The Executive Physician of Clinics is an MD or DO faculty member. The candidate must meet all requirements for a faculty appointment within any UNM School of Medicine clinical department (Board Certified in specialty). The Executive Physician of Clinics must also meet all requirements for membership on the medical staff (Credentialed) of the hospitals within the UNM Health System. He or she must also be eligible to work in the United States and practice in the State of New Mexico.
The ideal candidate will have earned at least a Master’s degree in healthcare or business administration; have a minimum of five years of progressive management and results oriented experience in ambulatory health care within a medical center, a strong record of skill in administration, including financial management and have demonstrated evidence of scholarly activity, teaching, and clinical expertise appropriate for appointment as a faculty member in a school of medicine.
