The Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical Translational Research is seeking a health Systems Analyst Programmer I (TERM).  This is a full-time/exempt term position lasting six months to one year. 
Position Specific Key Functions and Expected Performance:     
The Vanderbilt Institute of Clinical Tranlational Research is seeking a Term Health Systems Analyst Programmer I.  Under general supervision, assists in the analysis of specific operational processes and information generation or utilization. Develop, test, implement and support portions of computer-based information systems as assigned, using independent judgment. 
Use effective oral, aural and written communication skills
Willingly share knowledge with other team members
Work collaboratively with other teams to expedite resolution to problems
Prepare and deliver presentations to an internal group
Communicate problem resolution to users and staff seeking, feedback on the success of the problem resolution
Review feedback with team leader/mentor to determine further appropriate actions and follow-up
Program documentation is written under the guidance of Health Systems Analyst Programmer II, Health Systems Analyst Programmer III or manager
Provide timely status reporting as required or needed
Integrity and security data
Ensure the integrity and security of institutional data
Promote confidentiality and security policies and procedures
Provide support for user security processes
Be aware of impact of data across systems
Analysis and Definition
Develop interviewing skills to determine and define programming requirements/definitions. Prepare functional and/or technical specifications, with guidance
Effectively identify problems, risks and their resolutions.
Develop an understanding of the types of procedural and technical impacts that need to be considered on in an environment of integrated systems.
Develop skills to analyze individual assignments and provide time frame estimates for completion.
Technical Knowledge
Provide a variety of programming duties with supervision
Develop effective, efficient internal design and detail pathway flow
Adhere to basic programming standards
Produce/build programs within an acceptable error rate
Establish comprehensive and detailed functional test plans
Provide ad hoc information and data analysis to support designs and decisions
Demonstrate knowledge of interface methods and tools
Demonstrate good knowledge of operating systems and support tools
Use debugging tools and monitor effectively
Maintain skills and programming languages as commensurate for experience level

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, TERM salaried position. 

Salary is commensurate upon years of education and experience.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required or the equivalent.
Preferred knowledge, skills and experience:                   
Good communication skills (verbal and written) preferred.                     
Expertise in database design (MySQL, Oracle, and/or SQL Server) helpful.                        
Prior experience with/knowledge of REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) software helpful.                      
Must be able to work in a team environment and have good interpersonal skills.                          
Prior experience in database development and data collection/entry preferred.                          
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines preferred.                
Prior experience with study protocols and  guidelines preferred.                          
Prefer prior experience with program documentation.                              
Prefer detail and process oriented.
