Program Coordinator

Job Description To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. Assist student athletes regarding academic intervention and support. 2. Track student-athlete academic success and normal progress toward degree and/or certificate requirements. 3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all student athletes; monitor various correspondence logs, databases and records for accuracy and completeness. 4. Organize scholarship book responsibilities with staff and student athletes, as assigned. 5. Provide information to coaches, athletic staff and college instructors regarding potential eligibility concerns including additional coursework requirements. Schedule and operate study table hours for student athletes. Monitor study table and study room activity for student athletes, as assigned. Schedule visits to classrooms to insure athletes are in attendance. Schedule tutors for students. 6. Work with college departments that include, but are not limited to: Disabilities Services, Record and Registration and Advising Services on academic and scheduling matters. Prepare progress reports. 7. Ability to cross-train with other intercollegiate personnel for the Department and other Student Activity and Athletic Assistant areas (i.e. Game Management, Programs, SALP program, Study Table, Promotions). 8. Monitors the academic progress of team members, and arranges for appropriate guidance and/ or assistance to contribute to the academic success of student athletes. 9. Perform a variety of functions to assist student athletes regarding academic intervention and support including initial eligibility. 10. Spearhead the student-athlete orientation day and professional development series for student-athletes. 11. Assist with management of OCCAC and NJCAA events hosted by Columbus State Community College. 12. Actively participate in department meetings and assist with and support special events (i.e. Alumni events, life skills, Hall of Fame, fundraisers, etc.) 13. Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required to meet workload demands 14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required education/experience An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Preferred qualifications for this position are: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, supplemented by a minimum of three (2) years of intercollegiate athletics administration.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of: NJCAA, OCCAC and College requirements; Principles and practices of recordkeeping Computer programs (i.e. word, excel, PowerPoint, publisher etc.); English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation; athletic teams and sports. Ability to: Create and maintain confidential student records and information; identify and interpret NJCAA, OCCAC and College entry requirements for students and continuing eligibility requirements. Maintain a calendar and schedule as required; Skill in: communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; working with a diverse community; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications for this position are: Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

Training/Certifications Required State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to worksite(s).
