Job Description Summary:
In conjunction with the Director of Multicultural Affairs, the Coordinator will promote increased understanding and appreciation of diversity amongst the campus community by overseeing Signature Programs, assisting to create marketing strategies, and assisting to orchestrate global programming.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree.

Programming experience.

Developed organizational skills.

Proven ability to work within the confines of a designated budget.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree.

Understanding of student learning theories.

Experience in community development.

Excellent written communication skills.

High level of confidentiality.

Ability to program various events for large groups of students, faculty, and parents/families with diverse needs and interests.

Sensitivity toward diverse peoples and cultures.

Ability to effectively collaborate with campus students, faculty, and administration.

Ability to successfully work autonomously.

Essential Duties Summary :
Strengthen signature events by benchmarking traditions at peer institutions.

Develop and manage event co-sponsorships with departments and programs across campus.

Promote and market Heritage Month events.

Coordinate all aspects of the closing dinner for each Heritage Month, including promoting, assisting to select an honorary speaker, orchestrating award ceremonies, and finalizing student participants.

Ensure all events are included on the Armstrong State University calendar.

Oversee and manage the Multicultural Facebook page.

Coordinate and prepare marking and media publications.

Assist in orchestrating World AIDs Day programming and intermediate Global Relief Efforts.

Stay current on relevant issues concerning diversity, social justice, discrimination, and global awareness that may affect the university community.

Collaborate with various offices and individuals to develop programs and advertising.

Attend various divisional staff meetings and individual meetings with project manager.

Serve as a chaperone, as needed.

Strengthen approaches and practices used to promote cross-cultural learning, interactions, global service, and multiculturalism through continual research.

Monitor student attendance at area sponsored events.

Assist in the development of campus wide programming initiatives.

Conduct leadership trainings.

Maintain programming budgets.

Other duties as assigned.
