Minimum Qualifications:

A Master’s Degree/PhD and 5 years in the field or in a related area, to include 2 to 5 years of research and/or college level teaching in a field basic to the work to be performed.

Desired Qualifications:

Data base programming experience.

Prior experience in multi-center protocol development and management.

Job Duties
  • Oversees the data management and central data processing systems used by the research study; ensures the maintenance and integrity of study databases.

    Develops and designs processes (SOPs) and oversees training of study staff to ensure that activities are conducted in accordance with study protocol.

  • Function:
  • Manages the programmers and research staff responsible for the data management systems, the software testing and the data quality assurance reviews (case report forms audits).

    Develops and designs processes to ensure that all new research study systems and database development is documented.

  • Function:
  • Plans, configures and implements data management and study systems for site/project management, reporting and quality assurance from beginning to end. Collaborates with other key study staff throughout the process:

    •Manages the implementation of developed study systems for the protocol and sub-study/ancillary studies data acquisition, monitoring and reporting.

    •Oversees the programming of new edit routines and the development of report programs which help coordinators monitor project progress, and also study specific routines for import of laboratory results data or transfer of data acquired on medical devices.

  • Function:
  • Hires and supervises the training of research assistants/programmers on using the computer systems and data management methods.

  • Function:
  • Leads meetings to review processes, data management requirements and go over status of projects.

    Plans, conducts and participates in meetings, to include meetings that may require travel to other locations in the Washington DC metropolitan area or other cities in the US. Chairs, leads or participates on committees.

  • Function:
  • Oversees programmers to ensure that they provide support to all the clinical centers for troubleshooting of any problems encountered relevant to the data management systems.

  • Function:
  • Keeps abreast of current industry trends; enhances professional knowledge and skills through the review of published literature and attendance at workshops/seminars or training as appropriate and in accordance with Biostatistics Center Professional Development Policy.
