Founded in 1845, Wittenberg is a nationally ranked, private, liberal arts college related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and has an enrollment of about 2,000 students. Wittenberg is a NCAA Division III institution participating in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and offers a broad-based intercollegiate athletics program with 23 varsity teams - 11 for men and 12 for women - and numerous club and intramural opportunities. Annually, Wittenberg places among the top four in the North Coast Athletic Conference All-sports standings including a first place finish in 2009-2010.
Wittenberg University is accepting applications for the position of Head Coach, Men's and Women's Tennis. This is a full-time, 10-month position. Responsibilities include all aspects of running a Division III tennis program including, but not limited to:
- Recruitment and retention of student-athletes
- Fiscal management
- Alumni and public relations
- Practice and game-day coaching
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director including game management, teaching, and/or administrative duties
Successful candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, be able to interact effectively and appropriately with student-athletes, possess the skills to evaluate prospects, maintain and ensure student-athlete academic integrity, demonstrate a commitment to compliance with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
A bachelor's degree is required. Additionally, we require 1-3 years of previous coaching experience, with a preference given to collegiate coaching experience.
