Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to secure corporate and foundation contributions in support of the strategic priorities of the university.
The position engages corporations and foundations with NKU in strategic areas focused on student recruitment, research collaborations, and other key university initiatives that align with the goals of both institutions to build strong partnerships. These partnerships will lead to gifts that will help the university advance its priorities.
Collaborate with advancement, academic, and administrative leaders to identify, evaluate, cultivate, solicit and steward external association, corporate and foundation prospects in support of the university's strategic plan, Fuel the Flame. Manage a portfolio of 75-100 corporate and foundation organizations.
Build strong relationships with academic and administrative leaders, program directors and staff; develop a deep knowledge of institutional programs and priorities.
Coordinate proposal development; writing and submitting proposals; preparing letters of inquiry, reports, budgets and other materials; planning and managing visits by foundation executives and key supporters.
Meet frequently with the Vice President of University Advancement and participate in regular staff and prospect management meetings.
Record relationship interactions in the university’s information system.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and five or more years of related experience are required.
Experience with comprehensive fundraising campaign preferred.
A strong track record of previous successful major gift solicitations ($25,000+) in higher education is preferred.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows application is required and knowledge of Raiser's Edge is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are also required.
