Position Summary:The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the direction of the Director of Sports Medicine. This position will deliver athletic training services to effectively manage all injuries/illnesses incurred by intercollegiate athletes. This includes providing prevention, evaluation, management, and reconditioning of athletic injuries to assure the safety and well-being of student athletes. The position is also expected to provide of emergency medical services, within the scope of his/her training, at intercollegiate athletics team practices/events to manage potentially catastrophic and acute athletic injuries/illnesses. In addition, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will be expected to work in collaboration with Sports Medicine Fellows, Physical Therapy undergraduate and graduate students as well as other clinical students and interns associated with the Sports Performance and Medicine and/or University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS).
This position is an 8-month, benefits-eligible position.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in athletic training

NATABOC and CPR/AED certified

Eligible for Massachusetts licensure

Strong communication, rehabilitation, and problem solving skills
