The Manager of Community and Corporate Relations (MCCR) is responsible for community outreach efforts, typically with a 45 mile radius of a physical Brandman University campus. The MCCR builds positive awareness of the institution and its academic programs within the business, community college, health profession, city/state/government, military and education communities, and is responsible for building and sustaining a strong pool of qualified prospective students. The coordinator works under general supervision and regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in the execution of his/her duties. The incumbent collects data and performs statistical analysis and makes informed judgments and decisions based upon the data and other information. This position reports to the Regional Southern Assistant Vice Chancellor of Community & Corporate Relations, with an indirect line to the Campus Director, and is held accountable to weekly, monthly and quarterly performance goals as spelled out in the general Recruitment Action Plans. Goals include, but are not limited to: prospect generation volume of an average of 750 new prospects per year (averaging 125 leads per session), meetings, workshops and presentations, outreach calls, participating in career fairs and transfer days at community colleges, market research, participation on work groups, creating opportunities for the signing of agreements and site visits entities as spelled out in the Recruitment Action Plans.. TYPE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED: POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions: 100% of time Marketing and Outreach (85% of time) The MCCR works specifically with Recruitment Action Plans which provide specific goals and opportunities as a roadmap to success in the MCCR position. The top five recruitment Action Plans support the campus EMP plans and include: Community Colleges, Business to Business, Education, City/State/Gov, and Health Professions. Strategies include, but are not limited to:
  1. Promote Graduate and Undergraduate programs to all who could benefit from them
  2. Attend education, career fairs and visit businesses, school districts and military bases in the local area
  3. Actively communicate with and provide follow up with potentials students
  4. Meet with Human Resource managers, career counselors, principals, Community College instructors, members of school leadership, and students to provide information about the Brandman programs
  5. Develop and present information at local community colleges, K-12 schools, military bases and businesses to promote our academic programs
  6. Coordinate and conduct off site information sessions for prospective students at various venues (self initiated and by invitation)
  7. Set up and staff information tables as community colleges, businesses, and other select venues
  8. Provide general information about Brandman, academic programs, admission requirements, and distribute marketing and application materials to prospective students or referral sources
  9. Participate in community organizations such as the local Chambers of Commerce in order to create a referral network
  10. Assist in new program launches
  11. Develop offsite cohort opportunities
  12. Assist in initial recruitment strategies for collocation opportunities as they arise within the typical campus outreach radius of 45 miles.
    1. Planning and Organization (15% of time)
      1. Work directly with the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Community & Corporate Relations, the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Business Development, Campus Director, Program Managers, and the Campus Enrollment Management Team to determine the target market for each academic program and develop program specific strategic marketing plans accordingly
      2. Analyze statistical data in order to enhance recruitment and yield strategies and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of actual performance versus targets
      3. Establish lead generation and conversion benchmarks in conjunction with the Campus Director
      4. Plan and organize objectives to enhance enrollments
      5. Plan and organize objectives to enhance enrollments
      6. Proactively follow up with prospects/leads by telephone, email and snail-mail
      7. Track all performance metrics on a daily basis (e.g., number of prospects generated per week)
      POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Special Conditions of Employment: A valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel is needed. This position requires a flexible work schedule, with occasional travel and evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary to accommodate business needs. May be required to travel overnight. Previous Experience: Required:
      1. Five years of experience in higher education, to include experience in marketing, recruiting, corporate outreach management, generating new customer base, sales or similar experience
      2. Proven ability to meet or exceed established goals for identifying and converting prospects into enrollments in a competitive, higher education environment
      3. Proven skills in conducting analyses and interpreting related inquiry and enrollment data.
      4. Demonstrated experience in addressing problems, defining relevant issues, drawing sound conclusions, and making responsible recommendations
      5. Highly developed oral and written communication skills; excellent phone presentation skills
      6. Demonstrated project management experience in developing outreach, marketing and recruitment plans
      7. Ability to work independently, meet critical deadlines and enrollment targets
      8. Political sensitivity and ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals at all organizational levels
      9. Excellent problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize a heavy workload under pressure and competing assignments
      Desired Qualifications
      1. Substantial experience in an academic environment, including exposure to and knowledge of enrollment and recruitment of students
      2. Experience in promoting high-caliber education and training to a diverse student base
      3. Experience in conflict resolution and consensus building
      4. Knowledge of Brandman University policies and procedures
      Knowledge and Education: Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience, Master’s degree preferred
