Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact an academic or administrative department.

- Manages basic office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information.

- Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

- Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.

- Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.

- Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.

- Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.

- May supervise office staff and student workers. 

- Performs related duties as assigned.

Working under the direction of the Director of Financial Aid & Student Financial Support, the Administrative Coordinator will support a small team that works in the College's "HUB,' assisting the team as they deliver in-person, phone, and e-mail enrollment advice to current and prospective students, families, College staff, and external organizations. As Guttman's One-Stop Office, the key purpose of the HUB is to provide counseling services to students in the core areas of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Bursar, and the Campus Solutions applications of the University's online CUNYfirst student information self-service system, amongst other functions. The Administrative Coordinator will assist the team in ensuring a smooth delivery of services and provide support for all activities pertaining to the HUB.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supports the administrative student enrollment functions of The HUB.
- Assists in the maintenance and management of student information databases (CUNYFirst, Hobsons, Degree Works, FACTS, etc.).
- Advises and assists students with various online services and systems (CUNYFirst, Hobsons, USDE, NYSHESC, etc.).
- Provides students, prospective students, and their families with information regarding all enrollment services at Guttman.
- Coordinates financial aid application event(s).
- Assists in the day-to-day administration of the HUB, which includes scheduling appointments with counselors and coordinators, preparing and distributing materials, coordinating supplies, etc.
- Assists the team in advisement on academic and administrative requirements for inquiring students.
- May participate in Admissions group and individual information sessions.
- May assist with graduation, immunization requirements, Single Stop referral, and updating of content on pertinent web pages.

As a small start-up, Guttman Community College requires flexibility and a broad range of skills and competencies from candidates in every position. Located in midtown Manhattan, Guttman was established with the goal of significantly improving student learning, retention, and graduation by rethinking community college education and practice. The College is committed to using a range of innovative approaches in order to achieve these goals and to improve student persistence and completion. The centerpiece of Guttman's educational model is an integrated first-year core curriculum that builds the academic, linguistic, and affective skills necessary for success in college and career. Additional features of the model include using New York City as a context for learning in and out of the classroom, the integration of academic and student support services, and the use of ePortfolios. Guttman currently offers five majors: business administration, information technology, human services, liberal arts and sciences, and urban studies, and will offer additional programs in the future. The College admitted its first cohort of 300 students in August 2012. At full capacity, Guttman will enroll 3,000 to 5,000 students.


Bachelor's Degree required.
