Position Summary: Research Associate position is immediately available in the laboratory of Charles Cox in the department of Physiology. The research project focuses on alterations in neurophysiology, plasticity, and anatomy associated with a mouse model of Fragile X Syndrome.

Position will: Interact with graduate students to assist in scheduling and performing experiments; supervising in order to receive instructions, exchange information and review data; interact with peers/staff to decide daily division of labor and to discuss experimental results and problems; work with student employees to oversee their work, answer questions and check on accuracy of test results.

A PhD in neuroscience, physiology, or related discipline.

Experience required: Interacting with graduate students assisting in scheduling and performing experiments; Supervising; Experience working with peers/staff regarding daily division of labor and to discuss experimental results and problems; Experience overseeing students with their work, questions and check on accuracy of test results.

Typing Requirements (wpm):

Desired Qualifications: Experience in one or more of the following approaches are highly desirable: whole-cell patch-clamp electrophysiology in brain slices, multiphoton imaging, an stereotactic animal surgery and optogenetics.
